Under Construction

As of now I am beginning my journey in developing Solar Escape and I will be using this blog as a means of keeping track of my progress.

Prototyping Patch Notes Week 2

Week 2 Ideas and Projects - Oct. 22, 2015

Basic Game Structure
  • when player hits a black hole, time is reversed by a certain number of seconds - providing a time penalty
  • when a player hits a light nebula - speed of rocket increases and respawn rate of objects should increase
  • the opposite of the above idea for light nebulae should occur for dark nebulae - so everything would slow
  • have some kind of system that determines how many miles have been traveled and constantly display the speed of the rocket
  • have cans of gas spawn in that the player needs to collect to keep tank above empty
  • after you die - have a screen that shows the time alive, distance traveled, top 5 best times and distances traveled

Prototyping Patch Notes
  • make graphics and animation for Nebulae
  • make graphics and animation for black holes
  • make a transition from clicking the start button in the start screen to play the game
  • create a page that displays upon death that shows most recent time and then 5 best times displaying them from greatest at the top to least at the bottom
  • improve the collision detection for asteroids and comet
  • create 2 more rock images to further randomize asteroids
  • create graphics and animation for gas (red bar) also make graphics for the actual gas can
  • make collision detection for gas cans and create a system for the gas tank
  • comment rest of code to clean it up and organized
  • make new soundtrack for the game engine (DONE)
  • dabble in some sound effects for the game - buttons, falling objects, spacecraft - idk
